Gig Description
Experience an evening of South Asian spiritual jazz, where Sheela Bringi’s ethereal, Hindustani-inflected vocals intertwine with the resonant sounds of her rāga harp and bansuri flute. The group’s sound blends Mark Miller’s emotive woodwinds, Elden Kelly’s virtuosic guitar, Bill McCrossen’s centering bass and world strings, and Kevin Matthews’ percussive textures and deep grooves. Together, they create an intricate and soulful musical landscape that both grounds and elevates, inviting listeners into a transcendent sonic journey. The group debuted to a sold-out audience at Chautauqua Community House last May.
Sheela Bringi has released two albums, Shakti Sutra and Incantations, and her music has been featured on Disney, Netflix, and over 50 world and ambient records. Her work has garnered attention from NPR, NBC News, and more.
