Cooper Madison is a Kirtan singer and Tabla player who has studied both Hindustani and Carnatic music over the span of ten trips to India. Already known as a multi-instrumentalist in the Los Angeles and New York Kirtan communities, Cooper is now following his passion by leading his own Kirtans. His songs are reminiscent of more traditional raga-based Indian Bhajans and Kirtans in a way which tries to honor the ancient and sacred art of Indian devotional music and audience members often come away from his performances feeling uplifted and infused with a devotional vibration.
Sheela Bringi is a rare songbird whose music is both earthen and ethereal. A versatile performer with roots in Indian classical and jazz music, Sheela sings and plays the harp and Indian bansuri (bamboo) flute, and leads kirtan (Indian devotional chanting). Sheela holds an MFA in World Music from the California Institute of the Arts and is currently working on her third album with PremaSoul, her band with jazz trumpeter Clinton Patterson.
